         Pursuant to a notice posted on August 31, 2000, the House  
         Committee on Agriculture & Livestock met in a public hearing and  
         was called to order by the chair, Representative Swinford, at  
         10:15 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

         Absent:   Representatives McReynolds; Christian; Green; Jones,  
                   Charles (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The Chair made opening comments relating to the interim charge  
         requiring a compilation of agriculture research currently  
         underway and recently completed.  (Representative Brown, Betty  
         in chair.)
