Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.11, a public hearing
of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Trade &
Technology was held on Tuesday, May 13, 1997 in Senator
Truan's Desk, at Austin, Texas.

Chairman Truan called a public meeting upon adjournment of the
Session at his desk to take up and consider HB 3478, relating
to the designation of a portion of State Highway 35 as the
John B. Coleman Memorial Highway. Roll was called at 12:02
p.m. and a quorum pronounced present. There being a quorum
present, the following business was transacted. Chairman
Truan recognized Senator Shapleigh for a motion to report HB
3478 favorably to the full Senate with the recommendation that
it do pass and be printed. The motion failed to carry with a
vote of 4 ayes, 2 nays, 1 present not voting, and 2 absent.
There being no other business before the Committee, at 12:05
p.m. Senator Bivins moved that the Committee stand recessed
subject to the call of the chair.
Without objection, it was so ordered.
