Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.11, a public hearing
of the Senate Committee on Jurisprudence was held on Friday,
May 2, 1997 in the Senate Chamber at Austin, Texas.

Senator Wentworth, the Acting Chair, called the meeting to
order at 10:50 am. The following business was transacted.
The following members arrived after the roll was called:
none.
At 10:53 am Senator Luna assumed the chair.
The Chair laid out SB 309 and recognized the author, Senator
Wentworth, to explain the bill.
Senator Wentworth moved that SB 309, as amended, be reported
back to the Committee with the recommendation that it do pass
and be printed. The motion carried with a vote of 2 ayes, 0
nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.
At 10:55 am Senator Wentworth resumed the chair.
There being no further business, at 10:55 am Senator Wentworth
moved that the Committee be adjourned. Without objection, it
was so ordered.
