Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 8,
1997, the House Committee on Urban Affairs met in a formal
meeting and was called to order by the Chair, Representative
Fred Hill at 5:40 pm.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Hill; Bailey; Clark; Ehrhardt;
Garcia; Hodge; Shields (7).
Absent: Representatives Burnam; Wohlgemuth (2).
A quorum was present.
SB 1527
The chair laid out SB 1527 as pending business.
Representative Ehrhardt offered an amendment to the measure.
The amendment was adopted without objection.
Representative Ehrhardt moved that SB 1527, as amended, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on
Local and Consent Calendars. Representative Bailey seconded
the motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Hill; Bailey; Clark; Ehrhardt;
Garcia; Hodge; Shields (7).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Burnam; Wohlgemuth (2).
(Representative Wohlgemuth now present.)
SB 1286
The chair laid out SB 1286.
Representative Ehrhardt moved that SB 1286 be reported
favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do
pass and be printed. Representative Bailey seconded the
motion. The motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Hill; Bailey; Clark; Ehrhardt;
Garcia; Hodge; Shields; Wohlgemuth (8).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representative Burnam (1).
At 5:47 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
