Pursuant to a notice posted on April 23, 1997, and pursuant to
an announcement on the floor of the House changing the time of
the hearing, the House Committee on Public Safety met in a
public hearing and was called to order by the Chair,
Representative Keith Oakley at 3:25 pm.
