       Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 22,  
       1997, the House Committee on Calendars met in a formal meeting  
       and was called to order by the Chair, Representative Mark Stiles  
       at 10:30 pm. 
        
       The roll was answered as follows:   
        
       Present:    Representatives Stiles; Hilbert; Berlanga; Brimer;  
                   Danburg; Dutton; Hernandez; McCall; Place; Sadler;  
                   Turner, Sylvester (11). 
       Absent:     None (0). 
        
       A quorum was present. 
        
       The Chair recognized Rep. Danburg, who moved to place SB 55 on  
       the Major State Calendar for Saturday, May 24, 1997.  Rep.  
       Hilbert seconded the motion, which prevailed by the following  
       record vote:    
        
       Ayes:            Representatives Hilbert; Berlanga; Brimer;  
                        Danburg; Dutton; Hernandez; McCall; Place;  
                        Sadler; Turner, Sylvester (10). 
       Nays:            None (0). 
       Present not Voting:   Representative Stiles (1). 
       Absent:          None (0). 
        
       The Chair recognized Rep. Hilbert, who moved to place SB 313 on  
       the Major State Calendar for Saturday, May 24, 1997.  The motion  
       was seconded by Rep. Turner and failed by the following record  
       vote:   
        
       Ayes:            Representatives Hilbert; Sadler; Turner,  
                        Sylvester  (3). 
       Nays:            Representatives Berlanga; Brimer; Danburg;  
                        Dutton; Hernandez; McCall; Place (7). 
       Present not Voting:   Representative Stiles (1). 
       Absent:          None (0). 
        
       At 10:35 pm, on the motion of Representative Danburg and without  
       objection, the meeting was recessed subject to the call of the  
       chair.
