House Committee on Calendars

         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 16,  
         1997, the House Committee on Calendars met in a formal meeting  
         and was called to order by the Chair, Representative Mark  
         Stiles at 12:45 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Stiles; Hilbert; Berlanga; Danburg;  
                   Dutton; Hernandez; McCall; Place (8). 
         Absent:   Representatives Brimer; Sadler; Turner, Sylvester  
                   (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The Chair recognized Rep. McCall, who moved that the committee  
         place the following bills on a calendar for Monday, May 19,  
         1997:  SB 361 and SB 1898 on the Major State Calendar; and SB  
         81, SB 89, SB 168, SB 253, SB 298, SB 426, SB 506, SB 759, SB  
         875, SB 1028, SB 1081, and SB 197 on the General State  
         Calendar.  The motion was seconded by Rep. Berlanga and passed  
         by the following record vote:      
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Hilbert; Berlanga; Danburg;  
                        Dutton; Hernandez; McCall; Place (7). 
          
         Nays:          None (0). 
          
         Present not Voting:      Representative Stiles (1). 
          
         Absent:        Representatives Brimer; Sadler; Turner,  
                        Sylvester (3). 
          
         The Chair recognized Rep. Hernandez, who moved that the  
         committee place the following bills on a calendar for Tuesday,  
         May 20, 1997:  SB 35, SB 353, and SB 370 on the Major State  
         Calendar; and SB 172, SB 229, SB 271, SB 291, SB 299, SB 305,  
         SB 381, SB 461, SB 551, SB 694, SB 823, SB 1246, SB 1460, SB  
         1514, and SB 1702 on the General State Calendar.  The motion  
         was seconded by Rep. Berlanga and passed by the following  
         record vote: 
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Berlanga; Danburg; Dutton;  
                        Hernandez; McCall; Place (6). 
          
         Nays:          None (0). 
         Present not Voting:      Representative Stiles (1). 
          
         Absent:        Representatives Hilbert; Brimer; Sadler;

         At 12:50 pm, on the motion of Representative Danburg and  
         without objection, the meeting was recessed subject to the  
         call of the chair.
