Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 10,
1997, the House Committee on Calendars met in a formal meeting
and was called to order by the Chair, Representative Mark
Stiles at 2:00 pm.
The roll was answered as follows:

Hernandez; McCall; Place; Sadler (8).
Absent: Representatives Brimer; Dutton; Turner, Sylvester
(3).
A quorum was present.
The Chair moved to place the following bills on the Major
State Calendar for Monday, May 12, 1997: HB 119, HB 1202, HB
1662, HB 583, and HB 2385. The motion was seconded by Rep.
Hilbert and passed by the following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Stiles; Hilbert; Berlanga;
Danburg; Hernandez; McCall; Place; Sadler (8).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Brimer; Dutton; Turner,
Sylvester (3).
The Chair recognized Rep. Hilbert, who moved to place HB 1022
on the Major State Calendar for Monday, May 12, 1997. The
motion was seconded by Rep. McCall and failed by the following
record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Stiles; Hilbert; McCall (3).
Nays: Representatives Berlanga; Danburg; Hernandez;
Place; Sadler (5).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Brimer; Dutton; Turner,
Sylvester (3).
The Chair moved to place HB 3464 on the Major State Calendar
for Tuesday, May 13, 1997. Rep. Hilbert seconded the motion,
which failed by the following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Stiles; Hilbert; McCall; Place;
Sadler (5).
Nays: Representatives Danburg; Hernandez (2).
Present not Voting: Representative Berlanga (1).
Absent: Representatives Brimer; Dutton; Turner,

The Chair moved to reconsider the votes by which the following

which prevailed by the following record vote:

At 2:10 pm, on the motion of Representative Berlanga and
without objection, the meeting was recessed subject to the
call of the chair.
