         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 7,  
         1997, the House Committee on Calendars met in a formal meeting  
         and was called to order by the Chair, Representative Mark  
         Stiles at 6:30 pm.

         Nays:          None (0).

         The Chair moved to place HB 3464 on the General State Calendar  
         for Friday, May 9, 1997.  The motion failed by the following  
         record vote:

                        Sadler (5). 
          
         Nays:          Representatives Danburg; Dutton; Hernandez;  
                        Turner, Sylvester (4).

         At 6:40 pm, on the motion of Representative Place and without  
         objection, the meeting was recessed subject to the call of the
