         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 15,  
         1997, the House Committee on Calendars met in a formal meeting  
         and was called to order by the Chair, Representative Mark  
         Stiles at 4:55 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Stiles; Hilbert; Berlanga; Brimer;  
                   Danburg; Dutton; Hernandez; McCall; Sadler; Turner,  
                   Sylvester (10). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Place (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The Chair recognized Rep. McCall, who moved to place the  
         following bills on a calendar for Thursday, April 17, 1997: HB  
         539, HB 627, HB 976, HB 1212, HB 1482, HB 1621, HB 1929, HB  
         2082, HB 2826, HB 40, HB 2424, HB 3116, HB 1977, HB 2159, HB  
         2193, HB 2252, HB 2146, and HB 3197 on the General State  
         Calendar; and HCR 24 on the Resolutions Calendar.  The motion  
         was seconded by Rep. Sadler and passed by the following record  
         vote:  
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Hilbert; Berlanga; Brimer;  
         Danburg; Dutton; Hernandez;   McCall; Sadler; Turner,  
         Sylvester (9). 
          
         Nays:          None (0).

         At 5:00 pm, on the motion of Representative Hilbert and  
         without objection, the meeting was recessed subject to the  
         call of the chair.
