         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on March 20, 
         1997, the House Committee on Calendars met in a formal meeting 
         and was called to order by the Chair, Representative Mark 
         Stiles at 11:55 am.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:  
         
         Present:  Representatives Stiles; Berlanga; Brimer; Danburg; 
                   Dutton; Hernandez; McCall; Place; Turner, Sylvester 
                   (9).
         
         Absent:   Representatives Hilbert; Sadler (2).
         
         A quorum was present.
         
         The Chair recognized Rep. Turner, who moved to place the 
         following bills on the General State Calendar for Monday, 
         March 24, 1997:  H.B. 101, H.B. 337, H.B. 411, H.B. 507, H.B. 
         717, H.B. 803, H.B. 906, H.B. 920, H.B. 1429, H.B. 1492, H.B. 
         1235, and S.B. 249.  The motion was seconded by Rep. Berlanga, 
         and passed by the following record vote: 
         
         Ayes:          Representatives Berlanga; Brimer; Danburg; 
                        Dutton; Hernandez; McCall; Place; Turner, 
                        Sylvester (8).
         
         Nays:          None (0).
         
         Present not Voting:      Representative Stiles (1).
         
         Absent:        Representatives Hilbert; Sadler (2).
         
         The Chair recognized Rep. Hernandez, who moved to place the 
         following bills on a calendar for Tuesday, May 25, 1997:  H.B. 
         51, H.B. 138, H.B. 156, H.B. 220, H.B. 344, H.B. 438, H.B. 
         449, H.B. 646, H.B. 670, H.B. 1050, H.B. 1150, H.B. 1266, and 
         H.B. 1422 on the General State Calendar, and H.C.R. 11 on the 
         Resolutions Calendar.  The motion was seconded by Rep. Place, 
         and passed by the following record vote:
         
         Ayes:          Representatives Berlanga; Brimer; Danburg; 
                        Dutton; Hernandez; McCall; Place; Turner, 
                        Sylvester (8).
         
         Nays:          None (0).
         Present not Voting:      Representative Stiles (1).

          At 12:05 pm, on the motion of Representative Dutton and 
         without objection, the meeting was recessed subject to the
