Those wishing to give public testimony, please limit prepared remarks to 2 minutes. If submitting written testimony, please submit 40 copies, with your name on each copy, to the Assistant Clerk during the hearing.

 

·                Oral testimony: fill out a paper witness card and submit to the Assistant Clerk.

·                Oral and written testimony: fill out a paper witness card and hold on to your documents until your name is called to the table.

·                Position only: register using the Senate kiosk located in the extension hallways or by going to Http://swrs on public-capitol.

·                Written testimony only: register your position using the Senate kiosk then bring your 40 copies, with your name on each copy, to the Assistant Clerk, during the hearing.

Relating to an increase in the amount of the exemption of residence homesteads from ad valorem taxation by a school district, an adjustment in the amount of the limitation on school district ad valorem taxes imposed on the residence homesteads of the elderly or disabled to reflect increases in the exemption amount, and the protection of school districts against the resulting loss in local revenue.

SB 4           Bettencourt | et al.    
Relating to the maximum compressed tax rate of a school district.

SB 5           Parker | et al.         
Relating to an exemption from ad valorem taxation of a portion of the appraised value of tangible personal property a person owns that is held or used for the production of income and a franchise tax credit for the payment of certain related ad valorem taxes.

SJR 2          Parker | et al.         
Proposing a constitutional amendment to authorize the legislature to exempt from ad valorem taxation a portion of the market value of tangible personal property a person owns that is held or used for the production of income.

SJR 3          Bettencourt | et al.    
Proposing a constitutional amendment to increase the amount of the exemption of residence homesteads from ad valorem taxation by a school district and to adjust the amount of the limitation on school district ad valorem taxes imposed on the residence homesteads of the elderly or disabled to reflect increases in the exemption amount.

SJR 4          Bettencourt | et al.    
Proposing a constitutional amendment excepting certain appropriations to pay for school district ad valorem tax relief from the constitutional limitation on the rate of growth of appropriations.
