AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the sale and purchase of retail fireworks permits. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 2154.202(c), Occupations Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) The commissioner shall provide for the sale of a [A] |
|
|
retail fireworks permit through an Internet website. A person may |
|
|
purchase a permit on the website. The Texas Department of Insurance |
|
|
shall post a link to the website on the department's Internet |
|
|
website [be purchased from a licensed manufacturer, distributor, or |
|
|
jobber or from the state fire marshal's office]. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Sections 2154.202(d) and (f), Occupations Code, |
|
|
are repealed. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
