Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 17, 2019, and permission granted on May 17, 2019, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Ways & Means met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Burrows, at 9:45 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Burrows; Guillen; Martinez Fischer; Murphy; Rodriguez; Shaheen; and Wray.

 

A quorum was present.

The chair laid out SB 288 as pending business.

 

Representative Wray moved that SB 288, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Representative Noble moved that SB 1029, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

The chair laid out SB 1294.

 

Representative Guillen moved that SB 1294, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Nays:                           Representative Shaheen (1).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

The chair stated that SB 1294 was reported favorably, but, failing to receive a unanimous vote,

will not be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.

 

At 9:47 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
