Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 25, 2019, the House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Nevárez, at 7:44 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Nevárez; Paul; Calanni; Goodwin; Israel; Lang; and Tinderholt.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

HB 1090

 

The chair laid out HB 1090 as pending business.

 

Representative Goodwin moved that HB 1090, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Nevárez; Paul; Calanni; Goodwin; Israel; Lang; Tinderholt (7).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Burns; Clardy (2).

HB 3030

 

The chair laid out HB 3030 as pending business.

 

Representative Paul offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Paul moved that HB 3030, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion failed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Nevárez; Paul (2).

 

Nays:                           Representatives Clardy; Israel; Lang; Tinderholt (4).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Burns; Calanni; Goodwin (3).

 

At 7:48 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
