Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 18, 2019, the House Committee on Higher Education met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Turner, Chris, at 12:17 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Turner, Chris; Frullo; Howard; Pacheco; Schaefer; Smithee; Walle; and Wilson.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

HB 645

 

The chair laid out HB 645 as pending business.

 

The chair moved that HB 645, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Nays:                           Representative Schaefer (1).

The chair laid out HB 3003 as pending business.

Representative Howard moved that HB 3003, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

The chair laid out SB 479, the companion to House Bill 2573.

 

Representative Howard offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Howard moved that SB 479, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
