Pursuant to a notice posted on February 12, 2019, the House Committee on International Relations & Economic Development met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Anchia, at 8:02 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Anchia; Frullo; Blanco; Cain; Larson; Metcalf; Perez; Raney; and Romero, Jr..

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

Ambassador Douglas George, Consul General of Canada, and Carlos González Gutiérrez, Consul General of Mexico, appeared before the committee in their official capacities and made unsworn statements pursuant to the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations which prevent the application of Rule 4 of the House Rules to their appearances.

(Their names do not appear on the witness list.)

 

After the appearance of the consuls general, testimony was taken/registrations were recorded. (See attached witness list.)

 

At 10:59 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
