No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Local Government Code to require municipalities to maintain a copy of a map of the boundaries of the municipality and its extraterritorial jurisdictions in a location that is easily accessible to the public. For municipalities that maintain an Internet website the map must be available on that website. The bill would also require certain additional notices of proposed expansions of extraterritorial jurisdiction.
