FISCAL NOTE, 86TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 9, 2019

TO:
Honorable Stephanie Klick, Chair, House Committee on Elections

FROM:
John McGeady, Assistant Director     Sarah Keyton, Assistant Director
Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1888 by Bonnen, Greg (Relating to temporary branch polling place hours of operation.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Based on analysis from the Secretary of State, it is assumed that the provisions of the bill relating to temporary branch polling places could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

According to Bexar, Brazoria, El Paso, Fort Bend, and Hays counties, no fiscal impact to the counties is anticipated from the bill. However, Fort Bend anticipates a potential fiscal impact to smaller political subdivisions in their county, but that impact cannot be determined at this time.
