IN RE:
HB121 by Swanson (Relating to a defense to prosecution for the offense of trespass by certain persons carrying handguns.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Penal Code to establish a defense to prosecution for the offense of trespass by a license holder with a concealed handgun or with an openly carried handgun if the license holder was personally given notice to leave the property and promptly did so. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
