SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 540
	WHEREAS, The third annual BBQ Showdown at Traders Village
	is taking place in San Antonio on November 15 and 16, 2019; and
	WHEREAS, An International Barbeque Cookers Association
	sanctioned championship cook-off, the event attracts talented
	chefs from across the state; these highly skilled pit masters put
	their culinary abilities to the test as they vie to produce the
	tastiest entries in several different categories; and
	WHEREAS, This much-anticipated community gathering raises
	funds for the Southwest Area Buyers Club, a nonprofit
	organization that provides support to FFA and 4-H members in
	southwest Bexar County; as part of its mission, the club offers
	assistance to students in completing their livestock projects,
	and it also awards four $500 scholarships each year to deserving
	area seniors; and
	WHEREAS, Texans are renowned for their love of barbecue,
	and the BBQ Showdown at Traders Village is sure to offer everyone
	in attendance the chance to enjoy good times and great food while
	supporting a worthwhile cause; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
	Legislature, hereby commemorate the Southwest Area Buyers Club
	BBQ Showdown at Traders Village and extend sincere best wishes to
	the event's organizers and participants for an enjoyable and
	memorable experience.
