R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Dr. Amanda Stipe Veesart has been named associate
  dean of the Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at
  the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and this
  achievement indeed merits special recognition; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Sunray, Dr. Veesart graduated from
  Sunray High School and went on to earn an associate degree in
  nursing from Amarillo College; continuing her education, she
  obtained a bachelor of science in nursing from Lubbock Christian
  University, a master of science in nursing from the Texas Tech
  Health Sciences Center, and a Ph.D. in higher education from Texas
  Tech; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Veesart has gained a wealth of experience in
  emergency nursing and trauma, cardiac, and surgical intensive care
  over the course of her distinguished career, which began in 1999 at
  Moore County Hospital in Dumas; she worked three years as a
  registered nurse at the UMC Health System and taught for more than a
  decade in the School of Nursing at the Texas Tech Health Sciences
  Center; and
         WHEREAS, Amanda Veesart's dedication and expertise have
  greatly benefited her fellow Texans over the years, and the depth of
  knowledge she has acquired along the way will serve her well as she
  takes on this challenging new role; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Amanda Stipe Veesart on being
  named associate dean of the Traditional Bachelor of Science in
  Nursing program at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center
  and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success with her
  important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Veesart as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
