R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Stephanie Price has been presented with the 2018 |
|
|
Rising Star Award by the Texas Travel Industry Association; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Rising Star Award celebrates young |
|
|
professionals who have distinguished themselves as accomplished |
|
|
leaders in the Texas travel and tourism industry; Ms. Price was |
|
|
presented with the accolade at the Texas Travel Summit Awards gala, |
|
|
which took place in Galveston on September 26, 2018; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Price is the communications and marketing |
|
|
director at the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum in Canyon and |
|
|
was nominated for the Rising Star Award by museum director Carol |
|
|
Lovelady; as the 2018 honoree, she will hold a seat on the TTIA |
|
|
board and become a member of the organization's leadership council; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of West Texas A&M University, Ms. Price |
|
|
has combined a passion for travel with a keen interest in the |
|
|
preservation of Texas history; in addition to her work at the |
|
|
Panhandle Plains Historical Museum, she serves as chair of the |
|
|
Amarillo Convention and Visitor Council board and as a volunteer at |
|
|
United Way of Amarillo and Canyon; she was recognized as Member of |
|
|
the Year by the Amarillo Chapter of the American Advertising |
|
|
Federation in 2014 and was named to the Top 20 Under 40 list by the |
|
|
Amarillo Chamber of Commerce in 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through her exceptional contributions in promoting |
|
|
tourism in West Texas, Stephanie Price has earned the respect of her |
|
|
peers while making a positive difference in the Canyon community |
|
|
and beyond, and she is indeed deserving of this notable honor; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Stephanie Price on her receipt of |
|
|
the 2018 Rising Star Award from the Texas Travel Industry |
|
|
Association and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Price as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
