R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Melina Justiss of Bowie was commissioned as a |
|
|
highway patrol trooper with her graduation from the 164th recruit |
|
|
school of the Texas Department of Public Safety on November 30, |
|
|
2018; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, One of 92 recruits in the DPS B-2018 Class, |
|
|
Ms. Justiss began her training in June 2018; during her 26 weeks at |
|
|
the academy, she received instruction in more than 100 subjects, |
|
|
including criminal law, arrest and control procedures, accident |
|
|
reconstruction, and counterterrorism; she also underwent intensive |
|
|
training in physical fitness, first aid, driving, firearms, and |
|
|
Spanish; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Following her graduation, Ms. Justiss reported for |
|
|
duty at her posting in Midland, where she will complete six months |
|
|
of on-the-job training before officially starting her career as a |
|
|
state trooper; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Melina Justiss has distinguished herself through |
|
|
her hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence, and the |
|
|
knowledge and skills she has gained at the DPS Academy will be of |
|
|
great benefit in her service to her fellow Texans; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Melina Justiss on becoming a |
|
|
highway patrol trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety |
|
|
and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Justiss as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
