Pursuant to Rule 1, Texas House Rules and pursuant to Rule 11.03, Texas Senate Rules, a public hearing of the Joint Committee on Higher Education Formula Funding, Interim was held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.016, at Austin, Texas.

Co-Chair Senator Kelly Hancock called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

Senator Hancock and Representative Ashby both made opening comments.

 

Senator Campbell moved to limit testimony to 5 minutes; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Hinojosa moved adoption of the committee rules. There being no objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Hancock opened invited testimony on Higher Education Formula Funding.

Witnesses testifying and registering on the Higher Education Formula Funding are shown on the attached list. The chair moved that invited testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

There being no further business, at 1:31 PM Senator Hinojosa moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
