The chair called the meeting to order at 5:18 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business HB 1494. Senator Zaffirini moved that HB 1494 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 2 nays, 1 present not voting, and 1 absent. Senator Huffines submitted a motion in writing requesting unanimous consent to be shown voting nay on HB 1494; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business HB 2321. Senator Zaffirini moved that HB 2321 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 4 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent. Senator Huffines submitted a motion in writing requesting unanimous consent to be shown voting nay on HB 2321; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business HB 3484 and the committee substitute, which had been sent up in the May 16, 2017 hearing.

 

Senator Zaffirini moved adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so

ordered. Senator Zaffirini moved that HB 3484 do not pass but that CSHB 3484 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 2 nays, 2 present not voting, and 0 absent. Senator Huffines submitted a motion in writing requesting unanimous consent to be shown voting nay on CSHB 3484; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business HB 4029 and the committee substitute, which had been sent up at the May 16, 2017 hearing.

 

Senator Rodríguez moved adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so

ordered. Senator Rodríguez moved that HB 4029 do not pass but that CSHB 4029 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 8 ayes, 2 nays, 1 present not voting, and 0 absent. Senator Huffines submitted a motion in writing requesting unanimous consent to be shown voting nay on CSHB 4029; without objection, it was so ordered.
