Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Nominations was held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, in the Betty King Committee Room at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

Chairman Birdwell recognized Senator Burton to introduce Ms. Derrelynn Perryman, who has been nominated to the Texas Board of Criminal Justice, to the committee.

 

Ms. Perryman made an opening statement and took questions and comments from the following members: Chairman Birdwell, Senator Taylor, and Senator Estes.

 

Upon the completion of questions, no public testimony was offered.

 

Chairman Birdwell announced that Ms. Perryman’s nomination would be left pending before the committee.

 

There being no further business, at 9:47 a.m., Chairman Birdwell moved that the committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair; without objection, it was so ordered.
