Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:04 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

Upon a motion by Senator Bettencourt, and without objection, public testimony was limited to two minutes per person.

The Chair laid out SB 1 as pending business and public testimony was heard on SB 1 – Article II.  Witnesses testifying and registering are shown on the attached list.

 

Department of Family and Protective Services

 

At 10:18 AM Senator Nelson moved that the Committee stand recessed until 30 minutes after adjournment of the State of the State. Without objection, it was so ordered.

 

At 1:02 PM the Committee reconvened.

 

Public testimony continued on the Department of Family and Protective Services.

 

Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.

 

Department of State Health Services

 

Senator Nelson resumed the chair.

 

Health and Human Services Commission

 

Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.

 

Senator Schwertner assumed the chair.

 

Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.

 

Senator Hinojosa closed public testimony.

 

Senator Hinojosa moved that SB 1 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

There being no further business, at 8:57 PM Senator Hinojosa moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
