Pursuant to a notice posted on July 6, 2018, the House Committee on Urban Affairs met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Alvarado, at 10:13 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Alvarado; Leach; Bernal; Elkins; Isaac; and Johnson, Jarvis.

 

A quorum was present.

 

 

 

The committee heard invited testimony on the following interim charges:

 

 

Interim Charge #5: Examine local government oversight of abandoned and substandard buildings, including buildings of historical significance. Identify ways to best address these issues in an efficient and effective manner.

Interim Charge #7: Monitor the agencies and programs under the Committee’s jurisdiction and oversee the implementation of relevant legislation passed by the 85th Legislature.
