Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 6, 2017, and permission granted on May 6, 2017, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Human Services met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Raymond, at 10:00 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Raymond; Frank; Keough; Klick; Miller; Minjarez; and Rose.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

SB 11

 

The chair laid out SB 11 as pending business.

 

Representative Frank offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Miller moved that SB 11, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Raymond; Frank; Keough; Klick; Miller; Minjarez (6).

 

Nays:                           Representative Rose (1).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Swanson; Wu (2).

The chair laid out SB 1300, the companion to HB 3420.

 

Representative Minjarez moved that SB 1300, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Raymond; Frank; Keough; Klick; Miller; Minjarez; Rose (7).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Swanson; Wu (2).

The chair laid out HB 3935 as pending business.

 

Representative Minjarez moved that HB 3935, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
