Pursuant to a suspension of the 5-day posting rule on February 9, 2017, the House Committee on House Administration met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Geren, at 12:30 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Geren; VanDeaver; Bernal; Cyrier; Goldman; Hinojosa, Gina; Howard; Raney; and Schubert.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

Chairman Geren made opening remarks.

 

Vice Chair VanDeaver moved to grant the Chair the authority to act on the Committee’s behalf in matters involving the management of the general budget, approval of expenditure requests by House members, management of House facilities, coordination with House support personnel, and general enforcement of House policies and procedures.

 

The motion prevailed without objection.

 

Chairman Geren moved to adopt House Committee Budgets for the 85th Legislative Session. 

 

The motion prevailed without objection.

 

Chairman Geren directed the Committee Coordinator to prescribe the form of sworn statements, moved to approve the form of sworn statements, and the Translator Identification Form and further directed the Committee Coordinator to carry out the rest of her duties as described by House Rules. 

 

(Representative Oliverson now present.)

 

The motion prevailed without objection.

 

The Chair named the following members to the subcommittee on House Policy and Procedures: Representative VanDeaver Chair; Representatives Howard; and Oliverson.

 

At 12:34 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
