Pursuant to a notice posted on May 17, 2017, the House Committee on County Affairs met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Coleman, at 1:40 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Coleman; Springer; Biedermann; Neave; Roberts; Stickland; and Uresti, Tomas.

 

A quorum was present.

The chair laid out SB 1780.

 

(Representative Thierry now present.)

 

Representative Springer moved that SB 1780, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Coleman; Springer; Neave; Roberts; Thierry; Uresti, Tomas (6).

 

Nays:                           Representatives Biedermann; Stickland (2).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representative Hunter (1).

 

SB 1544

 

The chair laid out SB 1544.

 

Representative Uresti, Tomas offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Uresti, Tomas moved that SB 1544, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Coleman; Springer; Biedermann; Neave; Roberts; Stickland; Thierry; Uresti, Tomas (8).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).
