Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 3, 2017, and permission granted on May 3, 2017, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on County Affairs met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Coleman, at 2:29 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Coleman; Springer; Biedermann; Roberts; and Thierry.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

The chair directed that the April 27, 2017 minutes for the House Committee on County Affairs be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

 

HB 3639

 

The chair laid out HB 3639.

 

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

 

(Representative Uresti, Tomas now present.)

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Uresti, Tomas moved that HB 3639, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Coleman; Springer; Biedermann; Roberts; Thierry; Uresti, Tomas (6).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Hunter; Neave; Stickland (3).

The chair laid out SJR 27.

 

Representative Biedermann moved that SJR 27, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Coleman; Springer; Biedermann; Roberts; Thierry; Uresti, Tomas (6).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Hunter; Neave; Stickland (3).

The chair laid out HB 3844 as pending business.

 

HB 3844 was left pending without objection.

 

At 2:36 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
