Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 3, 2017, and permission granted on May 3, 2017, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Corrections met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative White, at 10:55 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives White; Allen; Davis, Sarah; Romero, Jr.; Sanford; Schaefer; and Tinderholt.

 

A quorum was present.

 

 

 

HB 1421

 

The chair laid out HB 1421 as pending business.

 

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

The chair moved that HB 1421, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives White; Allen; Davis, Sarah; Romero, Jr.; Sanford; Schaefer; Tinderholt (7).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        None (0).

 

 

SB 1584

 

The chair laid out SB 1584 as pending business.

 

Representative Romero, Jr. moved that SB 1584, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives White; Allen; Davis, Sarah; Romero, Jr.; Sanford; Tinderholt (6).

 

Nays:                           Representative Schaefer (1).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        None (0).
