Pursuant to a notice posted on July 10, 2018, the House Committee on Business & Industry met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Oliveira, at 10:12 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Oliveira; Shine; Collier; Romero, Jr.; Stickland; and Workman.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

 

The Committee heard invited testimony on Charge #2:

 

Partial: Review all existing law concerning consumer rights and protections, including but not limited to statutes that address deceptive practices, landlord/tenant agreements, and homeowner/contractor disputes. Determine whether the provisions offer adequate guidance and protections in disaster and recovery situations. (Homeowner/Contractor issue)
