SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 813
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
	recognize the members of the Rising Scholars Academy of South Texas
	Lady Rockets soccer team for their outstanding accomplishments
	during the 2016-2017 season; and
	WHEREAS, This school year has marked a season of great
	success for the Lady Rockets, for they have earned the titles of
	division champions, regional champions, and state champions for
	the second consecutive year; and
	WHEREAS, The young athletes have demonstrated talent and
	perseverance on the field and have worked diligently to meet
	their academic goals; team members Casey Charles, Hailley
	Obregon, Kaitlyn DuBois, Sophia Saenz, Mallorie Aguirre, Mariela
	Garcia, Loren Averyt, Linda Martinez, Isabella Keating, Claire
	Reed, Alaniz Cuellar, Gillian Cespedes, Karla Hernandez, Andrea
	Ramirez, Jenna Porter, Jessica Porter, Carolin Hernandez, Mary
	Grace Calara, and Lauren Powell can indeed take pride in their
	many achievements; and
	WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership of coaches Denise
	Ochoa and Amy Benavidez, the Lady Rockets have developed
	exceptional teamwork and discipline; and
	WHEREAS, The Rising Scholars Academy of South Texas and the
	citizens of San Benito are proud of the Lady Rockets for their hard
	work, their impressive skills, and their fine sportsmanship; now,
	therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
	Legislature, hereby commend Rising Scholars Academy of South
	Texas Lady Rockets for their successful season and extend to them
	congratulations on earning their second consecutive state
	championship title; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
