SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 611
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
	recognize Bishop Reginald L. Williams Sr., who was recently
	elevated to the position of Jurisdictional Prelate of the Texas
	Metropolitan Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God
	in Christ; and
	WHEREAS, Bishop Williams is a dedicated man of faith who
	has preached the gospel for more than 45 years; he is currently
	the pastor of Love Sanctuary Church of God in Christ in Fort
	Worth, where he is known as the "Prince of Preachers"; he is
	respected by congregants for exceeding his pastoral duties and
	serving the church in numerous capacities; and
	WHEREAS, Bishop Williams has previously served the Church
	of God in Christ as national chief adjutant and as assistant
	adjutant general, and he has served as chairman of finance for
	the Texas Northeast First Jurisdiction and as district
	superintendent of the Oak Cliff District; and
	WHEREAS, A dynamic and committed leader, Bishop Williams
	ministers faithfully to the needs of his followers and loyally
	promotes among the community the mission of the Church of God in
	Christ; he is indeed deserving of recognition for his recent
	promotion to jurisdictional prelate; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
	Legislature, hereby commend Bishop Reginald L. Williams Sr. for
	his life of devoted spiritual leadership and congratulate him on
	being named the Jurisdictional Prelate of the Texas Metropolitan
	Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ; and,
	be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him
	as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
