SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 605
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize the Cameron County Mental Health Task Force on the |
|
|
occasion of its 10th anniversary; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Cameron County Mental Health Task Force was |
|
|
created by the Cameron County Commissioners Court on December 19, |
|
|
2006, to address the lack of mental health services in the Rio |
|
|
Grande Valley; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since its establishment, the task force has been |
|
|
joined by more than 25 partner organizations that work to help it |
|
|
achieve its mission of pursuing solutions that will ensure access |
|
|
to appropriate behavioral health services for local residents; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The many services offered by the task force |
|
|
include a behavioral health referral directory, dissemination of |
|
|
a mental health fact sheet, presentations on the mental health |
|
|
services available in the county, and continuing education |
|
|
seminars and networking opportunities for mental health |
|
|
professionals; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Cameron County Mental Health Task Force has |
|
|
for 10 years done exemplary work in raising public awareness of |
|
|
behavioral health issues, improving access to mental health |
|
|
services, and recruiting health professionals to the community; |
|
|
it is truly deserving of special recognition for the profound |
|
|
impact it has had on the delivery of mental health services in the |
|
|
Rio Grande Valley; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend the Cameron County Mental Health |
|
|
Task Force on its exemplary efforts to provide behavioral health |
|
|
services in the Rio Grande Valley and extend to its staff and |
|
|
volunteers best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
the task force as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
