SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 463
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Mollie Ann Newcom
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Saginaw in mourning the loss of Mollie Ann Newcom,
  who died March 11, 2017, at the age of 82; and
         WHEREAS, Mollie Newcom was born on August 11, 1934, in
  Thornton, Texas; she graduated from Temple High School, and she
  continued her academics at Temple Junior College; she went on to
  earn a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in
  secondary education from the University of North Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Newcom had a rewarding 30-year career as an
  English instructor in both secondary and higher education
  classrooms; she was a spirited teacher who found immense
  fulfillment working with young people, and she was inducted into
  the Miss Texas Hall of Honor for her work with young women
  throughout Texas; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she
  shared 63 years of marriage with Max Newcom, and she was
  blessed with three children, eight grandchildren, and five
  great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mollie Newcom was guided in all things by her
  faith; she taught the Love Class at the First Baptist Church in
  Saginaw, and she treasured her friends in the Christian Women's
  Club; she was a beloved member of her community, and she leaves
  behind memories that will long be cherished by all who were
  privileged to share in her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Mollie Ann Newcom; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Mollie Ann Newcom.
