SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 163
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
join the citizens of East Parker County and Texans across the |
|
|
state in celebrating February 16, 2017, as East Parker County Day |
|
|
at the Capitol; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, East Parker County is a vibrant community on the |
|
|
western edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex that boasts a |
|
|
diverse economy and picturesque parks and green spaces; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The East Parker County Chamber of Commerce was |
|
|
established in 1996 to promote and attract business to the |
|
|
region; governed by a board of 11 members, the chamber organizes |
|
|
programs and initiatives throughout the year to promote its |
|
|
economic mission in the community; today, the chamber represents |
|
|
more than 600 businesses; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, East Parker County is a true gem of North Texas |
|
|
and an outstanding place in which to live, work, and play; |
|
|
residents are committed to building a prosperous community while |
|
|
preserving the area's rich heritage and culture, and they can |
|
|
indeed look forward to the future with confidence and pride; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |

|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend the citizens of East Parker County |
|
|
for their many contributions to the growth and progress of our |
|
|
state and extend to them best wishes in all their endeavors; and, |
|
|
be it further |
| |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as a |
|
|
token of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
