SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 132
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Bill Parrott
 
         WHEREAS, Memories of joyful times and meaningful
  accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends of
  Bill Parrott of Lindale, who passed away on June 20, 2016, at the
  age of 86; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Tyler on May 10, 1930, to Roscoe and Edith
  Parrott, Bill Parrott answered his nation's call to duty during
  the Korean War and served with the United States Navy; he later
  moved to Lindale in 1963 and enjoyed a fulfilling career in
  construction; and
         WHEREAS, Engaged in his community, Mr. Parrott was the
  founder and primary benefactor of the Old Mill Pond Museum and a
  member of the local Rotary Club and the Lindale Area Chamber of
  Commerce, which bestowed on him the 2007 Citizen of the Year
  Award; he was also a valued congregant of the First Baptist
  Church of Lindale, where he served as a deacon for many years; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Parrott was blessed in all his endeavors with
  the love and support of his wife of 58 years, Gloria Parrott, and
  he took immense pride in his daughter, Donna Morman, and his
  grandson, Trent Morman; and
         WHEREAS, Bill Parrott lived a rich and purposeful life
  centered around his faith, his family, and his community, and he
  leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire those who
  knew and loved him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Bill Parrott and
  extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do
  so in memory of Bill Parrott.
