SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 109
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Mary Lois Pittman McGahey
 
         WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may
  comfort those saddened by the passing of Mary Lois Pittman
  McGahey of Lindale on September 10, 2016, at the age of 94; and
         WHEREAS, Born to Claude and Lois Pittman on October 8,
  1921, in Lindale, the former Mary Pittman grew up with five
  brothers and three sisters; she was joined in matrimony to Jimmie
  McGahey, and over the years, the couple became the proud parents
  of three daughters, Laritha, Wilma, and Cathy, and two sons,
  Billy and Jimmie; Mrs. McGahey later had the pleasure of
  welcoming into her family 17 grandchildren, 28
  great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A skilled businesswoman, Mary McGahey owned and
  operated a floral shop in Lindale, and she also co-owned Jimmie's
  Texaco Station with her husband for more than four decades; she
  was a valued member of the congregation at Swan-Wood Springs
  United Methodist Church; and
         WHEREAS, Greatly beloved by her family and friends, Mary
  McGahey is deeply missed, and all who were blessed to share in the
  richness of her life will forever hold her close in their hearts;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Mary Lois Pittman
  McGahey and extend sincere condolences to all those who mourn her
  passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do
  so in memory of Mary McGahey.
