R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The Hallsville High School Bobcat Belles clinched
  the grand championship title in the National Drill Team Contest
  hosted by Showtime International in Galveston on April 3, 2016; and
         WHEREAS, Dazzling the judges with military-inspired
  choreography, the Belles secured their third consecutive win at the
  national-level competition, where they earned top honors in the
  super high school modern, hip hop, jazz, novelty, pom, and open team
  categories; these skilled performers also garnered special
  recognition for crowd appeal and were presented with the Spirit of
  America Award; and
         WHEREAS, Under the able guidance of director Kathryn Calaway
  and assistant director Mandy Jenkins, the 49 members of the
  Hallsville High drill team have spent countless hours practicing
  and perfecting their routine over the past school year, making
  their remarkable success particularly well deserved; and
         WHEREAS, Through hard work, dedication, and perseverance,
  these talented young Texans have established themselves as a
  premier Lone Star State dance team, and they may indeed take pride
  in their outstanding achievement; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Hallsville High School Bobcat
  Belles on their selection as the grand champions of the 2016
  Showtime National Drill Team Contest and extend to them sincere
  best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
