R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Bailey Schumm has ably served her fellow citizens as |
|
|
a legislative aide in the office of State Representative Eddie |
|
|
Rodriguez during the 85th Texas Legislature; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Schumm has provided |
|
|
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |
|
|
including performing casework and logging constituent feedback, |
|
|
researching and tracking legislation, preparing floor briefs, and |
|
|
meeting with advocacy groups; in addition to gaining valuable |
|
|
experience in the field of public service, she has learned more |
|
|
about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the |
|
|
Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A junior at The University of Texas at Austin, |
|
|
Ms. Schumm is majoring in public health and aspires to attain a |
|
|
master's degree in the same field; her academic achievements have |
|
|
earned her the title of Distinguished College Scholar in the |
|
|
College of Natural Sciences, and she is the recipient of an Archer |
|
|
Fellowship, which will enable her to travel to Washington, D.C., to |
|
|
further her studies and her professional experience; during her |
|
|
time at UT, she has also served as president of the University |
|
|
Democrats; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|
|
duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is |
|
|
indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Bailey Schumm for her service as a |
|
|
legislative aide in the office of State Representative Eddie |
|
|
Rodriguez and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Schumm as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
