R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Buckner Family Hope Center at Aldine celebrated |
|
|
its 27th anniversary on April 27, 2017; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded by Sylvia Bolling as Aldine YOUTH in 1990, |
|
|
the facility adopted its current name in 2012 after partnering with |
|
|
Buckner International, a global ministry focused on strengthening |
|
|
families, assisting children, and helping seniors to enjoy an |
|
|
improved quality of life; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Today, the Buckner Family Hope Center offers more |
|
|
than 20 programs that provide individuals in need with critical |
|
|
services and aid, including case management, family counseling, |
|
|
food and clothing, job training, and after-school and summer youth |
|
|
initiatives; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For more than a quarter century, the Buckner Family |
|
|
Hope Center at Aldine has made a positive difference in the lives of |
|
|
countless Houston-area residents, and this worthwhile organization |
|
|
is truly deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 27th anniversary of the Buckner |
|
|
Family Hope Center at Aldine and extend to all those associated with |
|
|
the facility sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the center as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
