R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at |
|
|
the tragic death of Lindsay Davis Weems of Fort Worth on May 1, |
|
|
2017, at the age of 24; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The beloved daughter of Carol Lowrance and Jeff |
|
|
Weems, Lindsay Weems was born on September 10, 1992, and grew up |
|
|
with the companionship of her brother, Matthew, and her sister, |
|
|
Heather; she graduated from R. L. Paschal High School in Fort Worth |
|
|
in 2011 and went on to further her studies at the University of |
|
|
North Texas, where she earned a degree in education in 2016; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Weems achieved her dream of becoming a science |
|
|
teacher when she was offered a position at Della Icenhower |
|
|
Intermediate School in the Mansfield Independent School District, |
|
|
and her passion for her work endeared her to colleagues and students |
|
|
alike; in her personal life, she enjoyed the affection of a devoted |
|
|
circle of loved ones as well as a host of dear friends who treasured |
|
|
her deeply; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With her warmth, kindness, and generosity of spirit, |
|
|
Lindsay Weems enriched the lives of all who had the privilege to |
|
|
know her, and they will forever hold her close in their hearts; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Lindsay Davis Weems |
|
|
and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her |
|
|
mother, Carol Lowrance; to her father, Jeff Weems; to her siblings, |
|
|
Matthew and Heather Weems; to her grandparents, Edna Waddell, Roger |
|
|
and Cissy Weems, and Kent and Kitsie Acord; to her stepmother, Dinah |
|
|
Weems; to her stepsiblings, Kent and Virginia Bailey; to her |
|
|
sister-in-law, Emily Weems; to her nephew, Jackson Weems; and to |
|
|
her many other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lindsay |
|
|
Weems. |
