R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Prosper High School baseball team reached the
  pinnacle of success by winning the 2015 University Interscholastic
  League 5A state championship on June 12 at the Dell Diamond in Round
  Rock; and
         WHEREAS, After going undefeated in district play, the Eagles
  began the postseason with an impressive series win over Frisco
  Centennial High School, in which they came back from a loss in the
  opener to take the second game 18-6 and the third 15-3; they
  continued their streak with a string of victories against
  Carrollton Smith, Frisco, Sulphur Springs, and Frisco Wakeland High
  Schools to punch their ticket to the state tournament; and
         WHEREAS, In the semifinals, Prosper overcame an early deficit
  to defeat Tomball High School 6-2, before going up against the squad
  from Georgetown High School with the title on the line; in that
  contest, both teams got off to a slow start in the first inning, but
  the Eagles rallied to rattle off six runs in the second inning,
  followed by another two in the third, and winning pitcher and
  championship game Most Valuable Player Kylor Morris turned in a
  dominant performance that kept the opponents off the scoreboard;
  the Eagles emerged triumphant with an 8-0 victory to claim the crown
  and close out a memorable season with a total of 35 wins and only 3
  losses; and
         WHEREAS, Excelling with a true team effort, the Eagles
  received significant contributions throughout the season from each
  member of the roster, and these talented student-athletes were
  inspired to play at the top of their game by head coach Rick
  Carpenter and assistant coaches Shaun Stanton, Clay Wilson, Zach
  Wilson, and Mark Cain; and
         WHEREAS, The Prosper High School baseball team demonstrated
  exemplary teamwork and an unwavering commitment to excellence, and
  the players and their many supporters in the local community will
  forever cherish the memory of this outstanding accomplishment; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Prosper High School baseball
  team on winning the 2015 UIL 5A state championship and extend to the
  team's players, coaches, and staff sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
