R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Laurie Burnham Roberts has ably served the people of
  Texas as an aide in the office of State Representative Rafael
  Anchia; and
         WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Roberts has provided
  vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks;
  in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public
  service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the
  issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; passionate about
  good governance and progressive causes, she has worked on the
  budget, gun control legislation, and criminal justice issues; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Roberts holds a bachelor's degree from the
  University of Massachusetts Amherst; while an undergraduate, she
  cofounded the Massachusetts Political Review and served as an
  intern to the deputy director of operations in President Barack
  Obama's White House; she has also worked for Issue One as a senior
  associate for programs and communications; she currently attends
  The University of Texas at Austin, where she is working toward a
  master's degree in public affairs; and
         WHEREAS, This outstanding young woman has performed her
  duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is
  indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Laurie Burnham Roberts for her service
  as a legislative aide in the office of State Representative Rafael
  Anchia and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success
  in all her endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Roberts as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
