R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Gary Majors of Missouri City was appointed constable
  of Precinct 2 in Fort Bend County on October 25, 2016; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of the Houston Community College Law
  Enforcement Academy, Mr. Majors first joined the constable's
  office as a deputy in 1994; he initially worked in the warrant
  division but soon earned promotion to sergeant, and in that role, he
  oversaw the patrol officers, field training operations, and the
  gang resistance program; he subsequently became a lieutenant and
  assumed command of the education and training departments; and
         WHEREAS, During a notable tenure that has spanned more than
  two decades, Constable Majors has remained committed to continuing
  his professional development, garnering a master peace officer
  license and mental health officer and civil process proficiency
  credentials; moreover, he is certified to teach courses on law
  enforcement ethics and cultural sensitivity as well as on the use of
  a variety of different weapons; and
         WHEREAS, This dedicated officer of the law holds membership
  with such groups as the International Association of Chiefs of
  Police, the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement
  Executives, and the Justices of the Peace and Constables
  Association of Texas, and he has given generously of his time and
  talents to a number of charitable and civic organizations,
  including the Barbara Jordan Endeavors Corporation and the NAACP;
  he is also a valued member of Windsor Village United Methodist
  Church and the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Texas,
  Ever Ready Lodge No. 506; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Majors enjoys the love and
  support of his wife of 12 years, Dawn, and he takes great pride in
  their daughter, Gabrielle; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout his career in law enforcement, Constable
  Gary Majors has devoted himself to the safety and well-being of his
  fellow Texans, and he may indeed take pride in his outstanding
  record of service; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Gary Majors on his appointment as
  constable of Precinct 2 in Fort Bend County and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Constable Majors as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
