R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, LaTreshia A. Hamilton of Houston is graduating from
  the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law on May 13, 2017;
  and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Michael and Ellen
  Hamilton, LaTreshia Hamilton grew up as one of nine siblings; after
  attending North Shore Senior High School in the Galena Park
  Independent School District, she majored in psychology at Texas
  Tech University; she made the President's List every semester and
  became a member of Mortar Board, Phi Kappa Phi, Golden Key
  International Honour Society, and a number of other prestigious
  academic associations; in 2012, she graduated first in her class
  with a 4.0 grade point average; and
         WHEREAS, While a student at Texas Tech, Ms. Hamilton interned
  in the Washington, D.C., office of U.S. representative Sheila
  Jackson Lee; she subsequently completed internships with the New
  Orleans City Attorney's Office, the City of Houston Legal
  Department, the 215th Civil District Court, the U.S. Bankruptcy
  Court for the Southern District of Texas, the American Civil
  Liberties Union of Texas, and the offices of Texas state senator
  John Whitmire and Texas state representative Harold Dutton; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Hamilton is a member of Phi Delta Alpha, an
  international legal honor society; in 2016, she participated in the
  electoral process as a member of the Resolutions Committees of both
  the Senate District 15 and the state Democratic Conventions, and
  she was a delegate-at-large to the Democratic National Convention
  and an alternate election judge for Harris County; she plans to
  pursue a master of arts in global affairs at Rice University; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of an outstanding academic career,
  LaTreshia Hamilton has earned the respect and admiration of
  professors and classmates alike, and her exceptional ability and
  commitment to excellence have opened the way to a bright and
  promising future; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate LaTreshia Hamilton on her
  graduation from the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law
  and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Hamilton as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
